Barij Essential Oil Research and Development Unit was established in 2001 with the aim of creating specialized drugs and advanced research on medicinal plants and herbal medicines with a focus on producing a higher quality product and also using and emphasizing the consumption of native Iranian plants and reviving traditional Iranian medicine. Some of the sections of this unit are: Agriculture, Plant Protection, Formulation, Phytochemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Development and Coordination of Scientific Texts, Regulatory, Veterinary, Microbiology and Biotechnology.
