Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and the most important degenerative brain disease. It is a chronic progressive and debilitating brain disorder that has profound effects on memory, causing problems with cognitive activity, speech, motor activity, dysfunction, planning, organization, and abstract reasoning.This disease is a major problem for public health that also affects interpersonal and social relationships. Many treatments have been suggested for Alzheimer’s, but there is still no effective and definitive treatment for it. Although the exact mechanism of Alzheimer’s disease is not well understood; Several hypotheses have been put forward about the causes of Alzheimer’s in recent years.One of these mechanisms has been proposed as the “cholinergic deficiency” hypothesis that acetylcholinesterase inhibitors such as rivastigmine, donepezil, and galantamine have been marketed by the same mechanism. The following results were obtained in a double-blind trial that examined the effects of a drug capsule consisting of frankincense, ginger, saffron, black pepper, wedge and honey in comparison with placebo in mild to moderate Alzheimer’s patients:Patients over 50 years of age with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease were divided into two groups: drug (n = 24) and placebo (n = 20). Patients used the drug for 12 weeks (three months). The results showed that during these three months, taking this capsule not only prevented the progression of symptoms; During this period, a decrease in the severity of symptoms was also observed.
